How do I know what Text-To-Speech(TTS) voices have been installed on the computer?
You can view all the voices available on the computer by following:
Control Panel-->Speech-->Speech Properties-->Text To Speech tab-->Voice,
selection drop down window. |

Where can I get other TTS voices?
If you are using Windows XP, the Microsoft Sam voice has been
installed by default. On Windows Vista and 7, there is the Microsoft Anna voice which is much clearer. Windows XP users are recommended to install third party voices. You can search for other voices. |

Why can't Panopreter Basic recognize the voices I installed?
Panopreter Basic recognizes and reads with voices which are compatible with Microsoft SAPI 5. If the voices are compatible with Microsoft SAPI 4, which is outdated, Panopreter Basic can not recognize the voices and read with them. You can search for other SAPI 5 voices. |

Can I change the default language in the language list window?
Yes. you can set the default language by clicking the menu Tools-->Option,
select "Language preference" in the left tree view on the dialog window
and do you configurations there. |

Can I choose the folder where the audio files will be saved?
Yes, you can do so by clicking the menu Tools-->Option, select "Audio file
saving configuration" in the left tree view on the dialog window. |

Can I choose my favorite music as the default one which will be played after the speech of the "Read file" finished?
Yes, you can do so by clicking the menu Tools-->Option, select "Music

I added files of different languages into the file list window and wanted to have them read by
Panopreter Basic, but some file was not read correctly, why?
You should not insert files in different languages into the file list window. Panopreter Basic
reads files in the same language after your clicking the "Speak" button,
For files in a different language, you should add them to the file list window seperately. |

I clicked the button to save the speech of the files
into wave and mp3 files, but I found the audio
files were not generated. What should I do?
That might be the wave and mp3 files created before have been
opened with other multimedia softwares, such as Windows media player and
Winamp etc. Close Windows media player and
Winamp first. |
