Steps to Use the Text to Speech Software Panopreter

  1. Run Panopreter, type or paste some text into the text window, or import a file by clicking the Open button.

  2. Select a language from the language list window. The language you select must be same as that of the file or the text in the text window; otherwise, the speech will not be what you want to hear.

  3. After you select the language, all the text to speech voices installed on the computer for the selected language will appear in the voice window, choose one of the voices.

  4. Click the Speak button, the software will begin to read the text out. The Pause, Resume, and Stop buttons will be enabled.

  5. Click the Save as Audio button to convert the text to audio files in wav, mp3, ogg, opus, aac, mp4, m4a and flac formats.

You can adjust the sample rate and bit rate to get satisfactory audio quality and audio file size. Click the menu Options-->Settings, then click the Audio Format node on the Settings window to show the options. Generally, you only need to change wav format to meet your requirements.

To listen to multiple files, or convert the files to audio files, click on the menu bar File --> Read Batch Files.

Panopreter supports two types of speaking, one type is Input and Speak, the other type is Read Batch Files. You can switch the default type by clicking on the software menu bar Options-->Settings, then click the Speak node on the left pane of the Settings dialog, and check the option that you prefer on the Speak tab window. When the software restarts, the default speaking type will be the one you choose.



Read Text in Any Other Software Window

  • First, start Panopreter, on the menu bar, click Options, make sure the sub menu item Read Clipboard is selected with a check mark. This feature is turned on by default.

  • Second, switch to any other software window, select the text your want to listen to, press Crtl+C keys on the keyboard to copy it to the Windows clipboard, or right-click on the selected text, from the pop-up context menu, click Copy menu item, Panopreter will read the selected text out immediately.



Text to Speech Add-In for Microsoft Word

  • With this add-in, users can have the Word document read aloud. If you select text on the document and click the Read button, the selected text will be read aloud. If you click the Read button without any text selection, all text will be read aloud.

  • Click the convert text to audio button button to convert all text or selected text into audio files.

  • Click the "..." button and you will see a popup menu. Click the Adjust Voice menu item to adjust volume, speed, and pitch. To change the folder where the audio file will be saved in, or to configure more settings, click the Options menu item.

Text to Speech Extensions for Chrome and Firefox

  • With this extension, users can have the web page text read out. If you select some text on the web page and click the Speak button, the selected text will be read aloud. If you click the Speak button without any text being selected, all the text on the page will be read aloud.

  • You can change the voice in the voice drop down list box.

  • You can adjust volume and speed.

  • With the toolbar, users can have the web page text read aloud directly. If you select text on the web page and click the Read button, the selected text will be read aloud. If you click the Read button without any text selection, all text on the web page will be read aloud.

  • Click the convert text to audio button button to convert the entire text or selected text into audio files.

  • Click the Panopreter button, and you will see a popup menu. You can click the Adjust Voice menu item to adjust volume, speed, and pitch. To change the folder where the audio file will be saved in, or to configure more settings, click the Options menu item.
